Azurite & Lapis Lazuli Tree

Natural slab of raw unpolished Azurite with a small amount of Malachite inclusions. The tree is composed of Lapis Lazuli pieces with copper wire forming the “tree and branches”.

This specimen has fine azure blue crystals included.

Azurite is a soft, deep blue copper mineral produced by weathering of copper ore deposits. It sometimes includes Malachite.

Lapis lazuli is composed of several minerals, including Lazurite (the primary constituent responsible for its blue color), calcite, pyrite (which gives it the characteristic golden flecks), and small amounts of other minerals.

The most sought-after color for lapis lazuli is a rich, royal blue with minimal calcite or other impurities. However, lapis can also range in color from light blue to deep violet-blue.
