Pendulums are used as tools for divination or dowsing. It is typically a crystal or metal weight suspended on a chain or cord, to gain insight or answers to questions. Hold the top of the chain, allowing the pendulum to hang freely, and asks yes or no questions. The idea is that the pendulum will swing or move in a specific direction to indicate the answer.
