Lapis lazuli is composed of several minerals, including lazurite (the primary constituent responsible for its blue color), calcite, pyrite (which gives it the characteristic golden flecks), and small amounts of other minerals.

The most sought-after color for lapis lazuli is a rich, royal blue with minimal calcite or other impurities. However, lapis can also range in color from light blue to deep violet-blue.

Metaphysical: Lapis lazuli has been associated with royalty, power, and wisdom throughout history. In many cultures, it symbolizes truth, enlightenment, and inner peace. It is also associated with the throat chakra and is believed to aid in communication and self-expression.
